EFT (tm)

EFT stands for ‘Emotional Freedom Technique’. It
is a revolutionary treatment that has proven to be
very successful in the United States, and is
enjoying more and more popularity in the UK. EFT
helps with a vast range of issues, not just
emotional.

What is EFT and why has it been so successful?

EFT is a meridian therapy within the field of energy
psychology and works through stimulation of
Acupressure points whilst focusing on particular
issues; EFT helps to balance the autonomous
nervous system, thus achieving optimal equilibrium
of body, mind and emotions. EFT has similarities
with Acupressure, Acupuncture, Yoga and
Hypnotherapy, but does not use needles or any
other implements, any manipulative mental or
physical procedures or loss of consciousness. EFT
is a physically painless procedure, works quickly
and efficiently with a high success rate, and is
surprisingly simple. As so often in life, the best
solutions are simple!
EFT bases itself on tried and tested principles
within the realms of meridian therapy. It is a new
and unique combination of energy therapy and
insights into personal and individual issues,
addressing imbalances within our psychological
and energetic set-ups, with the added benefit of
offering lasting results.

What can EFT be used for?

EFT works not just on Emotional Conditions, for
example trauma, stress-related illnesses,
depression, anxiety, phobias, fears; relationship
problems, bereavement & coming to terms with
terminal illnesses. It works equally well for some
Physical Symptoms, including back aches,
migraines, frozen shoulder, insomnia, cravings for
addictive substances lack of concentration, eye
strain, hay fever, tiredness, dyslexia. Last but not
least, it can also prove invaluable by optimising
Personal Performance in many health, sports and
various work environments, eliminating
psychological setbacks and self-sabotage.
Surprisingly, some symptoms can be treated in
minutes, whilst other more complex issues (such
as addictions or depression) take a little
perseverance; even very specific and personal
issues can be addressed with EFT in discrete
individual sessions. Clearing issues has never been
so simple and the particular issue that has been
dealt with usually improves permanently with EFT.
And yes – you can use EFT for easy Weight Loss
and to Stop smoking hassle-free!

EFT's unique properties invite you to 'try it on
everything!'.

Sounds too good to be true…?
We invite you to be sceptical - don't just take our
word for it. It is not at all necessary to believe in
EFT for it to work. It will do its magic anyway! Try
it for yourself and ask for a FREE 20min TRIAL
SESSION.

Can you see yourself as a performance coach,

Please READ ON to find some case studies which I
have picked from the hundreds of clients who
have come to me for EFT in order to find relief
from their haunting experiences. All of these are
'real' studies, not fictitious, and the results are
equally real. I feel very humble to have been
involved in healing some of the issues these people
had carried, some of them for most of their lives,
and I will try to update these studies every so
often in order to provide you with extra
information about EFT and how it may be able to
help you, as it has helped so many others.

CASE STUDIES

EFT has been successfully used in thousands of
cases such as Anxiety, Phobias, Fears and Panic
Attacks, Public Speaking, Stammering, Dyslexia,
Stress-related illnesses, Sports performance (such
as enhancing Golf pars!), Negative Thinking,
Cravings for Addictive Substances, Migraines,
Frozen Shoulder, Traumatic Experiences,
Neck/Back pain, Relationship Issues, Feelings of
Anger, Resentment, Frustration, Bitterness, Low
Self-Esteem, Childhood Traumas, Grief,
Depression and Sadness, Stress, Compulsions and
Obsessions, Nightmares, and many, many more. A
few case studies from our own files follow to give
you an idea of how useful EFT can be. Names have
been changed to protect the individual.

Case 1*: Flight Phobia

A lady came into my practice recently, having
never subscribed to Alternative Health Methods
before - ever. She was also very sceptical about
anything American! I assured her that she was
allowed to remain as sceptical as she wanted, that
EFT would work anyway and that she was entitled
to a free 20minute trial session. We worked on her
fear of flying, covering aspects such as the
piercing noise that airplanes make on takeoff, and
some previous events that contributed to her fear
of flying. In all, the session took about half an hour
– the phobia went completely in that time and did
not return.

Case 2*: Car Phobia

A lady client with a severe car phobia following a
car accident many years ago. Having been a
passenger in the car crash there were many
aspects to do with lack of control over the events
that were going to occur, sensory traumas such as
noises and bleeding. Although she did not sustain
major injury from the accident, her sleep pattern
had been disturbed ever since and she had not
been a passenger in a car willingly for years. After
only two sessions, this lady rang me from the back
of a taxi, happy to relate that she was taking a trip
to town and coming home on a bus. Her only
disappointment was that she was feeling so calm –
she had been expecting to be absolutely ecstatic
after this life-changing achievement!

Case 3*: Anger

A 'Borrowing Benefits' group session on anger,
with everyone focusing on a situation – or
someone - that had made them angry at some
point, no matter how recently or how long ago.
Two rounds of EFT, taking less than 2 minutes
each – and then, more than half the class looks
back at me in utter astonishment. The anger has
dissipated and is replaced by incredulity and
curiosity, then smiles and laughs all around as the
group relaxes, still not quite sure if they can
believe their luck. But the anger stays away,
changing the whole atmosphere in the room and
the lives of those taking part.

Case 4*: Depression

Deppression is often a long-term illness, with many
suffering deeply and having no choice but to resort
to medication to alleviate symptoms. Whilst we
never advise to come off any prescribed
medication and urge our clients to let their GP's
know that they come for EFT, here is a story of
one of my clients who had been a long-term
sufferer of Depression.

‘At first, nothing seemed to make a difference.
Whenever I felt the slightest bit better with the
tapping, a thought would come in and say ‘what’s
the point’. Gradually, though, the lighter periods
became longer and the dark thoughts less
menacing. It did take me some months to even
begin to see that it might be possible to put this
dark phase of my life behind me. Lots of things
became apparent to me – childhood experiences,
things that went wrong and many, many resulting
anxieties – even of getting better, however weird
that may sound. But I was frightened of what I
felt I ought to achieve in the world. When I
realised I was mostly frightened of the power of
my own thoughts, it really freed my thinking and
me. I have good days and not so good but the
really dark stuff is gone.’

Case 5*: Anxiety and PTSD

A lady who came to me for stress; her life seemed
to make no sense to her; everything was upside
down and inside out. She had no time to think with
her young 3 year old, did not sleep well, suffered
from high blood pressure and felt she had to rush
around everywhere. As anxiety is so generic this
day and age, I always automatically assume that it
is present and tap for anxiety often before
tackling other problems. So in this case. We
tapped for high anxiety levels and were
immediately led to an extremely traumatic birth
where she nearly died. Having finally given birth to
a healthy baby boy, she never had time
afterwards to think about the event much, never
mind deal with it, and all the energetic
disturbances from this event still caused her to
wake up anxious every morning. A classic case of
undiagnosed PTSD, we worked on the anxiety
only, we managed to get her anxiety down to
manageable levels and she knows how to tap for
herself if the need arose.

Cases 6*: Pain Relief

*A minor burn: a chef in a restaurant – I offer to
do EFT and after one round and to his
astonishment, the pain has entirely gone.
* A headache – and these are so common these
days – and yet fairly easy to tap on. Minutes later
it has disappeared.
* A frozen shoulder; this one’s tough to begin with
and it won’t budge; after a couple of sessions a
particular statement – seemingly unrelated
emotions of guilt and being at fault – shift the pain
to a much more manageable level.
* A toothache, which, after half an hour of
tapping, offers only some level of relief. It returns
a short while after the session, proof that EFT
does not always take away all levels of pain. Some
remaining pain might be useful by alerting a client
to a problem that needs attending to. I tend to
suggest a tapping session on fear of pain, dentists
and doctors…
*A backache which has been there for months;
EFT does not always work for chronic backache
but it does here – the lady feels the pain shift
upwards until it leaves her body entirely.

Case 7*: Bee Phobia

Her grandmother, who had heard of and
experienced EFT herself, brought in a young girl of
18. As a birthday treat, this girl was to get rid of
her bee phobia! The session was humorous and
light-hearted despite the severity of the phobia –
the girl was rather going to miss an outdoor BBQ
party at her friends than risk being stung by a
wasp or bee. When I asked her to visualise the
offending insect, she said that they always
seemed huge, and before we knew it she had
remembered and incident when she got stung at
two years old. Using the technique without going
back to that experience again or having to recall
any distressing details, the phobia was dealt with
in one session. Grandmother commented that she
hardly recognised her granddaughter afterwards
– she was so calm. She now intends to treat her
granddaughter to another session on another
subject!

EFT testimonial on relationships

I had had a strong feeling that all was not well in
my relationship for some time now, but could not
quite get to grips with the reasons why. When I
came across EFT and after I practised on more
mundane things, I decided it was time to use EFT
to heal my relationship. There were many aspects
to deal with - allowing emotional pain, fear of
rejection and separation, 'rescuing' my partner,
financial issues, and so on. All these aspects were
dealt with in such a short space of time that it was
amazing what impact it had on my life. I started to
see clearly the situation I had got myself into - and
also that I could only heal myself, and had no
influence on whether my partner would feel the
need for healing, too. Even this insight was the
result of EFT after making the mistake of thinking
that my partner absolutely had to have EFT as well!
As a result, my confidence grew - I stopped a
complicated pattern of behaviour all based on the
latent beliefs part of me had had all my life. I did
not allow myself to get run down anymore by
separation and arguments. I stopped trying to
give too much for my own good, and making
decisions on my partner's behalf. I learned not to
be frightened to get angry to make a point, and
then learned that anger does not have to be part
of making a point, because when I started
believing in myself people started accepting my
inner confidence without my having to fight for it.
One of the biggest issues, low self-esteem, was
underlying many other issues and, I felt, had
propelled me into this particular relationship at a
vulnerable time in my life. I also learned how I had
hurt my partner carrying past issues that I had not
dealt with into a new relationship. It was a
blessing seeing things getting clearer, and being
able to deal with issues once and for all, to be used
in a relationship where I could be more true to my
feelings.

EFT on nightmares

Alex came to me, asking whether EFT could be
used to regress people as in hypnotherapy. I
mentioned that, to those sensitive to their past,
this might sometimes happen as a result of
relaxing and calming down, but would not usually
be part of, or be necessary to benefit from EFT.
When asked for a reason for his inquiry, Alex
mentioned that he suffered from inexplicable
nightmares, haunting him every night, leaving him
exhausted the next day.
I suggested to meet me for a session, which he
agreed to. We 'tapped', as we do in EFT, on
accupressure points, simply focusing on his
general nightmares. When he visibly relaxed, Alex
made a connection between his nightmares and a
situation in his day-to-day life which worried him
very much. We tapped for this again, and all its
aspects, after which Alex looked and felt
extremely light and relaxed. He went home and
had his first good night's sleep in months. He had
not needed any regression process in order to feel
better, and when I spoke to him six months later,
his nightmares had not returned.

EFT testimonial on 'being German'

I have lived in the UK for 14 years and people
compliment me on my nearly accent-free English
which I never thought of as particularly unusual.
This, combined with the fact that I had 'failed' to
bring up my daughter bi-lingually and did not have
German friends in the UK, made up my sad
feelings of loss leaving Germany and my native
culture behind. I felt as a German I was much
hated and ridiculed in this country. I felt I had to
HIDE being German over here. After being
exposed to the same jokes and taunts for
fourteen years I realised I had made myself as 'un-
German' as possible, hence the fact that I spoke
perfect English and my daughter spoke hardly any
German. I discovered all this in a session of EFT, to
my complete surprise. It was quite a revelation
that I did not feel proud of my heritage and had
spent much energy denying it throughout fourteen
years.
After the EFT, I had wonderful proof of my
acceptance of the fact that I am German - I made
several very nice friendships with very nice and
very German people who also live in the UK, and I
even saw the funny side of it.

EFT and the dashed hopes of a Vietnam war
veteran

Within a workshop for the Health Service recently,
I had the privilege to work with a lovely gentleman
who seemed very troubled throughout the
morning. At the lunch break, he came up to me
and very openly poured his heart out about his
troubles. I offered a treatment to him there and
then, appreciating how bad he felt, and he
immediately accepted. The first thing he
mentioned was his war memory, the fact that,
although he had not been front-line, his memory
for his own personal movie was 'this bloody war'.
Within minutes of tapping, I heard him say the
classic words indicative of what we call a 'cognitive
shift': he said that this wasn't really the problem
any more' (even though we had started on this
issue with great intensity). As a result of the EFT
tapping procedure, he had been able to 'lay a
ghost to rest' in record time. But there were other
aspects - the feelings of the hopelessness he had
felt in the war quickly led him to reflect on his
present situation - where, again, he was afraid to
lose everything including family and home. Many
aspects surfaced as a result, in a 'tell the story'
fashion, and by the end of the session, the serious
stomach pains he had complained of at the
beginning and which were with him constantly,
had disappeared.

Using EFT for a chocolate craving

I can't remember how long I'd been addicted to
chocolate, but my figure was one that told the
story. Whatever I tried I could not give it up, and
in the end I gave up trying. I went to an EFT
seminar in which we were presented with
chocolate - and I could not stand seeing it lying
there in front of me, I just wanted to eat it! After
doing a sort of scoring, we tapped on it - and after
the first round of tapping, I did not want the
chocolate any more! I could not believe it! The
craving for it had just disappeared. It stayed away
for quite a few weeks as well. I realise that there
is still more work to do, because I know that I
have low self esteem as well which makes me
reach for the choc's but I will use EFT until that
disappears, too.

EFT on hay fever

Every summer I get hay fever. I have to take
tablets and they make me ill. This year I tried EFT
and it's funny. The hay fever has not come back.
